Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated · 11 May 2026
This policy explains when refunds are available for tickets bought through nexound.events. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.
1. The general rule
Tickets for live events are generally non-refundable once payment is confirmed. This is the standard practice in live events in Ireland: capacities are planned around confirmed bookings and seats can't easily be re-sold close to the event date.
Two important exceptions follow.
2. If we change or cancel the event
If we cancel an event, you'll receive a full refund of the ticket price to the payment method you originally used, within 14 days of the cancellation announcement.
If we make a material change — a substantially different line-up, a new venue more than 25 km from the original, or a date moved by more than 48 hours — you may request a full refund, also within 14 days of being notified.
3. The 14-day "cooling off" rule
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, you usually have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. However, that statutory right does not apply to tickets for a specific event on a specific date (the "leisure services on a specific date" exemption). By completing checkout, you agree that this exemption applies to your booking.
4. Discretionary refunds & exchanges
We'll consider refund or transfer requests on a case-by-case basis for circumstances like:
- Documented serious illness preventing attendance (a medical certificate may be requested).
- Bereavement of an immediate family member.
- Any reason where re-selling your seat is realistic (typically requested at least 14 days before the event).
We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, less any unavoidable third-party processing fees.
5. Resale of tickets
Tickets are personal and cannot be re-sold for profit. Tickets offered for sale through unauthorised third-party platforms may be invalidated at the door without refund.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us first before initiating a chargeback with your bank — most issues we can resolve directly and faster. Unjustified chargebacks may result in the underlying ticket being voided.
7. How to request a refund
Email support@nexound.events from the address you used to book. Include:
- Your ticket code (visible on your account dashboard).
- The event you booked.
- A brief explanation of your request.
8. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits your rights as a consumer under Irish or EU law, including any rights of redress through the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
